Polynesian name meaning 'ocean,' 'sea,' or 'wide expanse of water'.
Moanana, my new Spirit Doll, is made with the calm emotions of the sea in her spirit. Moana is made from clay, with strong central fabric covered sticks as her armature. She then has guard sticks to further strengthen. The fabrics I have used are cotton, silk, voile, silk sari waste and satin. I sculpted her face to represent the tribal dolls from various countries, painted in many layers. Her hair is beautiful pastel colours and she is adorned with tiny beads. She has a hook on her back for hanging.
Moana measures 42cm in total.

My bears are made from 100% mohair, silk, alpaca or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
