Harlequin
My new bear from my collection of middle sized bears is called Harlequin, so named after this style of pierrot, or clown. He is made from a lovely fur in two tone swirly off white and beige.
Harlequin is created in the traditional style of bears from the Victorian era, with wired black glass eyes, metal and card cotter joints and embroidered features. He wears his cream lace ruffle and lace covered pointed hat, with bobbles to finish.
Harlequin is heavily weighted with steel punchings,
he is stuffed with wood wool, polyfibre and also mohair scraps to replicate the waste materials used in Victorian times to save money.
Harlequin measures 23.5cms.

My bears are made from 100% mohair, silk, alpaca or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
