Fortescue
Fortescue is another bear from my collection of larger bears. He is made from a gorgeous felted mohair, golden and fuzzy. He is created in the traditional style of bears from the Victorian era, with wired black glass eyes, metal and card cotter joints, embroidered features and claws. He is wearing his old trousers, held up with string, plus his pair of over-sized specs.
Fortescue is weighted with steel punchings in his very fat tum! He is stuffed with wood wool, polyfibre and also mohair scraps to replicate the waste materials used to save money in Victorian times.
Fortescue measures 27cms.

My bears are made from 100% mohair or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
