Cubby Bear
Cubby is from my collection of larger bears, made using an amazing swirly, golden, dense mohair. He is created in the traditional style of bears from the Victorian era, with wired glass eyes in amber, metal and card cotter joints, embroidered features and claws.
Cubby is heavily weighted with steel punchings in his very fat tum, he is stuffed with wood wool, polyfibre and also mohair scraps to replicate the waste materials used to save money.
Cubby measures 27cms.
My bears are made from 100% mohair or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
