Chubby Chester
Chubby Chester is another bear from my collection of larger bears. He is made from an unusual mohair, pinkish brown on a dark brown backing. This has been trimmed and stained on his muzzle. He is created in the traditional style of bears from the Victorian era, with wired black glass eyes, metal and card cotter joints, embroidered features and claws. I have also used antique lace for the whites of his eyes.
Chubby is heavily weighted with steel punchings in his largest ever fat tum! He is stuffed with wood wool, polyfibre and also mohair scraps to replicate the waste materials used to save money.
Chubby is wearing a knitted outfit, comprising of a saggy, raggy hat with rusty bell on string and tank top with heart detail. Lastly, he has little socks to match!
He also needs his wire specs to help him see!

Chubby does not stand unaided.
My bears are made from 100% mohair or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
