Cairoli the Clown
(named after "Charlie" Cairoli , early 20th century clown)
Cairoli is a new bear from my collection of larger bears. He is from my Vintage Collection, made from golden viscose which is shaded in areas for an antique effect.
He is created in the traditional style of bears from the Victorian era, with wired amber glass eyes with lace whites, metal and card cotter joints, embroidered features and claws on his long limbs.
Cairoli is heavily weighted with steel punchings,
he is stuffed with wood wool, polyfibre and also mohair scraps to replicate the waste materials used in Victorian times to save money.
He comes in his harlequin costume, with muslin ruff, decorated hat and buttons, pom pom style.
Cairoli measures 26cms.

My bears are made from 100% mohair, silk, alpaca or viscose, with the occasional faux fur and plush thrown in!
They are 5 way cotter pin jointed, and some of my minis are string jointed. They have wired glass eyes, some of which are hand blown antique glass.
My bears etc. are generally around 11cm tall when seated and so are classed as miniature bears, although they can be quite stocky fellows!
The bears are filled with lovely, clean steel punchings
and some polyfibre stuffing.
These are collectors' bears made using materials and traditional components that make them unsuitable as children's toys. Every one arrives with a signed and dated certificate.
