Anahita:
a beautiful Persian name, meaning 'water or river goddess'.
My spirit doll is for display rather than for play and symbolizes or embodies an activity, a spiritual moment, experience, the divine, nature etc. Anahita is made from variety of soft, flowing fabric, clay, bundled wooden sticks and jewels.
I sculpted her face to represent the tribal dolls from various countries, with patterns, gold finish and sparkles. Her hair and turban are silk and silk waste, her robes are voile, sequinned satin and silk. Shaded paper roses and gold wire adorn her gown. She has a hook on her back for hanging.
