Aadya, Spirit Doll
Origin: Sanskrit Meaning: First Power
My spirit doll is for display rather than for play and symbolizes or embodies an activity, a spiritual moment, experience, the divine, etc. Aayda is made from variety of soft, flowing fabric, clay, bundled sticks, words, jewels and a feather. I sculpted her face to represent the tribal dolls from various countries, with patterns, gold finish and sparkles. Her hair and turban are silk and her robes are voile, satin and silk. She has a hook on her back for hanging.
